Amanda Burton Leaving!!!!!

Amanda Burton is leaving Silent Witness but it will continue without her!
It just won't be the same.

Yeah its not the same really i mean i still like it but hmm....
Im writitng and doing soem research at teh moemnt on a few tv crime drams about sypathy towards criminals and the police and the ways tehy are represented, sounds a bit.... hmm but Yeah!
Id eb grateful if anyoen coudl give me feedback on the topic... eg how are the police made to seem higher than criminals or the opposite and in certain cases do we sympathise with the criminal

Help would be appreciated!

she found her son she gave up for adoption in ireland and decided after some soul searching that she would stay with him and build a life where she had left off becuase she'd felt like she'd done all she could in pathology

In that same episode, she finally solved her fathers murder. He died in a carbomming when she was young.
She said that everything she had done in here life had lead her op to that point. After solving the murder she didn't really have a reason to do her job anymore. So it's actually a combination of that and wanting to be with her son...

I finally ( ! ) got to see the last Sam Ryan episode. Actually, in regard to writing out a major character without completely shutting down the programme, it was not badly done.

Up until last year I had only seen a few Silent Witness episodes (less than 4 or 5), all of which were with Amanda Burton, and I must admit to thinking that it would not be any good without here ...but, in the last few months I have been able to borrow and watch a friends Silent Witness DVD collection and have worked my way thru most of them and I think that it now 'seems' to work even better, if not as good as some of the best of the Amanda Burton centric episodes.

IMO They did the change over and adding of the Nikki/Emilia Fox part very well. I believe she (Emilia Fox) is going to be something quite special as an actor/actress, having also not long seen Fallen Angel http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0939235/ something of a 'must see' any fan of hers, but I have to agree that the on screen chemistry between these newer characters has made the show even better than it was with Amanda Burton only, or as the main character.

Emilia Fox hails from an incredibly talented acting family, including her parents, Edward Fox and Joanna David, and her uncles, James and Robert Fox (actually a producer). Her considerable gifts should come as no surprise. She also did an excellent turn as a villain in Scarlet Pimpernel.
