At the end of the two parter, Carmody confesses to the murder of Danielle.

But, what I can't work out for the life is me is why when Carmody tells DI Neill that he needs a lawyer and then accuses Neill of being on the take that Leo suddenly looks up realising that Neill is actually bent.

What was the clue that Leo heard or realised and was Carmody an undercover copper all along?

I am sure that scene was there to show that DI Neill was bent, but I just can't work out the significance of what was said. I certainly got the impression that Leo had a 'light bulb' moment as he tends to have from time to time.
