Wow what an excellent episode...
The one at the uni campus. That was real edge of the seat stuff. Usually watch this plodding program 'cos nothing else on. Concludes tonight. (Fri 29th)

It was ok, but I don't like the way they depict the main characters as superheroes and assign everybody else an IQ of room temperature. Maybe it is just me, but I just can't imagine that someone who dismantles corpses for a living can suddenly switch to paramedic mode, completely disregarding their own safety in the process. Also that "detective" was clearly going to get shot having been made easily disposable from the first scene. I certainly welcome the departure from the slow moving formula driven episodes we are used to though.
shareI loved the tension throughout, I haven't been grabbed by a BBC murder drama quite like that for a long time. Looking back it was a bit obvious, but when the detective got shot, I jumped right out of my skin.
shareI thought he'd get shot but it still made my jump; there was no indication it was about to happen till blood sprayed everywhere.
I'm only going to say this once: stay out of Camberwick Green - Sam Tyler
I'm not sure how I feel about this episode, it wasn't a typical 'Silent Witness' storyline. I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous episodes and it had a freaky feel about it. The ending was a bit strange too.
shareAbsolutely agree - the whole episode was so tense. I've got a feeling tonight's won't have the same tension. Being at uni myself, I found the scenes of the gunman walking the corridors really scary - even the thought of it's terrifying - and I just don't think (for me anyway) a one-on-one hostage situation is going to have the same effect.
"Folks don't laugh so loud when you've got a grand in your back pocket."
I absolutely loved last night's episode. Some parts now I have had time to think about it, were perhaps a bit unlikely, but at the time I was so into it and it was so intense.
I love Silent Witness normally but this change of pace was brilliant. It blew me away. Haven't been that impressed by TV in at least a couple of years, especially not British TV anyway.
Looking forward to the conclusion in 15 minutes. I doubt it'll be as tense but still lots of things to be dealt with. So looking forward to it!

The first part was great, but a bit of a duff ending I think.
shareI agree, although I was half expecting at the end, to see Harry missing a leg or two, as he's sitting down, apparently fine.
shareI was glad to see Harry still alive...
...now i want more Nikki and Harry moments please!!
"Some upsetting scenes." Especially when it dawns on you that you paid for the puerile script. Exploiting campus shooting tragedies for entertainment. Come back Ross and Brand, all is forgiven.
No way, and I do mean NO WAY, JOSE would Nikki and Harry venture out into the corridor with a gunman on the loose. Forget your Hippocratic oath, just no way would they do anything but sit there till the police arrive. Or better still, escape via the roof. And as for Nikki coming across all defiant and mocking with a homicidal maniac waving a submachine gun around....please. Would not happen. EVER. Never. EVER. She would shut the hell up in a corner and pray.
This series makes Waking The Dead sound intellectual.
Have to be honest i totally enjoyed this, SW is getting better and better, seriously good on all levels, well done Beeb!!!! Love Emilia!!!!
shareI was fortunate enough to work on this series, and all the cast and crew for this series were an amazing team!
My favoutite episode was 'Shadows'.
I will pass on the praise to all the hard working crew and production members.
Thanks
The cast listing for this episode is pathetic! You would think they would list all of the pertinent cast members, but all they could be bothered with listing, other than the main characters, was, "ambulance driver" and some "police officer."
Pathetic I say!
