I have watched Silent Witness, on and off, since it began and I have to say that the cast as they are now are just perfect!

Used to watch the odd episode with Amanda Burton in but, with the cast as it is now, and has been for the past few years, it is just unmissable. It has the perfect combination of great main characters, who you can't fail to care about, and interesting storylines.

The current cast (and respective characters) of William Gaminara, Tom Ward and Emilia Fox really do gel together so well, moreso than I have seen in any other production. They make you laugh & cry all in the space of one hour :)

Speaking of which - BBC, I would prefer a once-a-week 2-hour episode, rather than the current format of 1-hour on Mondays and Tuesdays. What do other fans think?

I agree I love the cast.

However I rather enjoy the suspense, not like this week though. Silent Witness almost killed me this week

One 2-hour episode per week would be better, I hope they'll decide to go ahead with that plan.

Highly unlikely, I'm afraid. With the news as a fixed feature at ten, the only way they could do "Silent Witness" as a two hour feature would be to start it at eight, which is pre-watershed. It would have to be a completely different show! They could put it on at the weekend instead, but I doubt they'd see it as a weekend programme. If they keep making it, it's sure to stay more or less as it is.

I agree about the cast, by the way. They're great together. The show is better than it ever used to be.

I just finished watching the final episode. I have been catching up since I live in the states. Having watched Amanda Burton's Sam Ryan, they would need three people to replace her! But I jest!! The things that I would change are have regular police. Over the last 14 years, there have rarely been the same cops 2 weeks in a row! And I would like to see what Sam Ryan is up to these days. Is she a pathologist in the city she went to? Is Her son now an upstanding citizen? And why can't Harry and Nikki be a couple! (Okay, that one was for the wife!)

I have to rely on the internet to watch the episodes because I can't get the BBC! So if you have any other shows that you think that I would like let me know. I currently download Skins, Being Human and Waterloo Road. (Yes I know Amanda Burton is the Head Teacher! I also watched The Commander)

Matt - sorry for the incredibly late reply (only just seen your post!) but if you like Silent Witness then I would definitely check out Wire In The Blood, Waking The Dead and Messiah.

I agree this cast is much better. I've never warmed to Amanda Burton.
