Okay, I'm thick and wet here but...Milton....S18 E8

Am trying to sort who did what here and what role the Russians ended up playing in the Maksim death scenario...

The FSB agent tried to buy Milton for upwards to 400,000 pounds in the first part. But we never saw his reply.

Then after Maksim was dead in ep 2, we saw the Russian consulate woman pass a potload of dosh into the FSB agent's hands. Pay off. Okay.

But here's where I'm a bit confused.

It was Doshi who instigated Maksim's death. He as much as admitted it. So, did Milton get paid off by the FSB to do what he knew his employer wanted done ANYWAY?

Was Milton simply capitalizing (no pun intended) on what he wisely knew Doshi would go for anyway? After all, Milton said to Yasmin he knew all about their close incestuous connection.

The notion that the Russians DID play a large part in the actual death of Maksim was strongly hinted by the use of the Fentanyl gas---Jack told the team that the Russians had been known to use that gas, especially in the siege at the theatre in Russia.

But we never saw the team make any connection to the Russians. Our intrepid team had an epic fail there! ha

But is this the gist? Milton was bought off to facilitate entry into the basement so the Russians could gas Maksim....and Doshi didn't care how Milton killed him? As long as he was dead?

Thoughts? Did I miss something key?
