Why not on Netflix?
Apparently this is a popular series . . . long-running anyway.
Does anyone know why Netflix would not have picked it up?

have no idea but I am watching the early episodes on YouTube--
have to search and some of them are difficult to find--some are given w/German captions so guess the poster was using German television--but it is interesting to compare the early versions with the one currently on BBC--
I have a VNP and watch from the US
"That's the beauty of argument, Joey...if you argue correctly, you are never wrong..."
Like many things that never come to Netflix, due to competing streaming outlets, SW is on Amazon (in the US anyway, I haven't looked to see if Amazon UK has it too).
Amazon apparently offered the bigger bucks than Netflix. Though only a few select seasons are posted for streaming.
But series 17 is up right now anyway.
Years ago Netflix was the go-to place for anybody worldwide to get their shows seen in America. Sadly for us Netflix folks, this is no longer the case, as we all know...........
I'm watching it on Netflix right now. The Danish Netflix that is... It's got season 1-14 on it.
shareWow! How great is that?
I've noticed other countries outside the US that have Netflix often have loads of things I'd like to see--while Netflix US has had to use SO much bandwith now with the bottom feeder US crap stuff, that it's not got the niche programming it once boasted to the extent it used to.
And those who travel between countries will know that US Netflix subscribers can't use Netflix in other countries (or at least you can't any more), because a warning pops up saying your subscription address is in the US.
This seems to be a newer thing though. For quite a while I could use UK Netflix in the UK, but now it's blocked.
Guess Netflix has country licensing issues with their releases. Gah.
It's the one negative about Netflix. It doesn't travel well.
While the Netflix country subscription could be about contract license--I would think it is more about subscriber numbers--
when Netflix was struggling to get any customers, I imagine it was more lenient about who was watching where...
Now that it is putting more effort into raising numbers in different countries, I think they are just blocking out more people w/a US subscription...
Hulu+ is the same way--you need a country subscription to watch outside the US--
And while I can use a VNP to watch BBC programming on IPLayer off the Internet, I have to get an app through the UK App store to watch ITV--and that is such a hassle I haven't tried it yet...
"That's the beauty of argument, Joey...if you argue correctly, you are never wrong..."
Really? With ITV?
That must be new, then? I used to watch ITV with a VPN when in the US to watch my favorite shows, but the commercials were hideous so I stopped.
The irony here is that I have paid for a UK tv license on my residence there, so am legally entitled to see shows, if not technologically entitled.
RTE has now blocked VPNs for some shows. They recently blocked "The Fall 2" because it was on one week earlier than on BBC Two, so they blocked VPNs, realizing everybody in the world would go to RTE to see it early.
And now it sounds as though ITV has too?
Last thing I heard was that Netflix had blocked it so that you can't see Netflix from other countries.
But I've got the Hola Plugin installed on my pc so I can change the country and that still works.
I don't know anything about changing country on any other platforms because I'm new to Netflix and online streaming, but on the pc the Hola Plugin really should still work :/
I don't get why we don't all have access to the same movies/series - it's sooo stupid! :(
It's true about Netflix--so far. You are right.
They read the IP number.
So when I'm at our place in London using the broadband at home (I have a US Netflix subscription) I cannot access Netflix UK, because a message comes up that says I have a US mailing/subscription address so I am blocked.
But if I use a VPN from London and set it for a US city, then Netflix US is watchable.
Unfortunately, with all the great stuff on UK Netflix that's NOT on US Netflix it can be frustrating to be right in the country but unable to watch it! ha
I could take out a SECOND Netflix--this time UK subscription-- though, but having all of my credit cards in the US address means they probably wouldn't take it even with a UK mailing address.
All in the world of licensing issues I guess.
