I agree. Smoking is a filthy habit and deadly. I don't see how people can do it today with all the knowledge out there about how dangerous it is.

Something about the whole case seemed off. Anyone who's been around smokers, or been into a house where multiple people smoke is really going to notice the smell. Did he think that smell would just vanish when he moved in, or that they really weren't going to continue to smoke in their own house?
That;s what he was told. Thusly the case. Its unrealistic. Smokers smoke. Its what they do. Around babies, children, with oxygen masks (As my brother does). They're drug addicts. They can;t help it. They will smoke if it kills them and everyone else around them.
