Don't interrupt! Litigants who constantly say "that's a lie", "that's not true", shake their head and make gestures, etc....this shows that they can't control themselves. And if they can't control themselves in court, imagine how bad they are on the outside.

There's a difference between being biased against men....and realizing that men and women are different and having slightly different expectations for them. JJ is not biased against men. But she expects men to work. She bristles when she hears that a woman is going out to work every day while the man is unemployed and stays home. She also realizes the dynamics of relationships. Bad men tend to cheat and sneak around like dogs. Bad women tend to be desperate and put the man above all common sense, even above her own children. So she rips men and women in different ways. Men for being arrogant dogs (hence the 'looks' thing). Women for being stupid and desperate. But they both get ripped equally. Just about different things. So I think you should quit whining about JJ picking on men. She only does that to those who deserve it.
She might test a guy though. Start ripping him a little to see how he reacts to it. It's an excellent tactic to see if he can control himself. But if the guy acts right and has sufficient answers, JJ will rule in his favor.

Yes, she does raise her eyebrows when she sees a young woman going out every day to work at a low-paying job, while her boyfriend is unemployed and loafing around the house all day. She gives a little more leeway to a stay-at-home mom who's husband is working.

For instance: Women's fashions are different than men's. Women's blouses and dresses tend to have low-cut necklines. Men's shirts do not. A man strutting into court with his shirt unbuttoned is not appropriate. Also....a skirt on a woman can be appropriate, whereas shorts on a man is not. It's not because JJ is biased. It's common sense.

Sny84....Judge Judy and I both agree with you that women shouldn't be able to just sit around the house collecting welfare. But if she has 3 or 4 kids, she has to take care of them. She's got to get child-support from the guy. If I made the rules....they wouldn't be getting taxpayer money. Put the kids up for adoption if you can't take care of them yourself.
But back to the main topic....what else have we learned from watching her show? We've learned that it's very important to dig into the background of the litigants. They sometimes try to say that their past or their criminal record has nothing to do with the case. But it does!!

I understand where you are coming from Mike but I teach in the south Bronx and many parents on welfare really are lazy. or they work under the table and collect dual money. and they have kid after kid after kid. which they have no idea how to feed, clothe, or raise. and then we have situations like Zeymere Perkins happen.
My favorite is when we see the community come together... they all are running into and out of an apartment carrying electronics... why? caseworker's coming!

Another dumb logic that JJ has is that only people with mental issues cause accidents intentionally and/or use situations to do an insurance scam.
Today there was a case where a plaintiff sued a defendant for the car accident. Defendant admitted that he left his kids in the car and that the car rolled, but denied that plaintiff's car was hit. JJ asked plaintiff if she was ever treated for any mental illness and/or if she's taking any mental health meds. When plaintiff answered "no", I guess that was enough for JJ to make a decision that the plaintiff was telling the truth. How do we know if the damage on the car wasn't there before?
There was a case from multiple years ago where a plaintiff claimed that the defendant hit her cars when he was shooting his gun. The defendant didn't deny that he was shooting his gun, but claimed that he lives in the country side and a lot of people shoot guns there. He claimed that he can prove that his bullets didn't cause the damage because bullet holes on the car had rust on them, meaning that they happened a longer time ago. JJ asked plaintiff the question about mental issues and then ruled in her favor (which yelling at defendant to be responsible with his weapons).

Syn84, if ever you have a court case, just always remember to file it on a Tuesday or Thursday. Those will be JJ's less cranky days. And always be sure ask your local judge if your cases can be handled in the afternoon time after so that the judge has had his/her lunch so that he won't be not quite as cranky and rule in your favor.
