What nationality is Helga?

Helga sounds like a German name but the name Pataki doesn't sound German to me. Also her sister's name is Olga which is a Russian name. Anybody know what Helga's nationality is?

I think Pataki is Polish. Also, in the Nanny episode, Big Bob says something like "these dumplings are just like the one's my Baba made." Baba means grandmother in a lot of Eastern European countries. Not sure about Miriam obv.

Oh yeah he did mention about that, Miriam could be Jewish, it is a Jewish name, I am also Jewish and have a eastern european backround also.

I believe I read somewhere that "Pataki" is an Hungarian surname.

You need to learn the difference between nationality and ethnicity. As do many people. Her NATIONality is American, as she was born in America. Her ethnicity: European background.

I meant to ask her ethnicity, I know she's American i should have asked what her backround is.

Pataki is a Hungarian name.

Definitely Eastern European. The names "Helga" and "Olga" are pretty much the same name in Russian and the names are most common in countries such as Sweden, Norway, Russia, etc.

I think Pataki is Hungarian.

I always thought "Pataki" sounded Russian.
