I always thought their names were kind of strange
I mean who names their kids Arnold, Gerald, Helga, Harold, Eugene, Rhonda, Sid, and Phoebe anymore? These kids had "old people" names.

I noticed a while back that more and more people give their children old names again (at least where I live). I also want to give my child a traditional/old fashioned name because I get so sick of these modern names that nearly every child now has.
Where I live about everybody's kid is either a Jacob or a Sophia.
shareYeah, most of these kids have odd names. Don't forget Nadine, Olga, Torvald and Wolfgang.

Nadine is not a weird name at all. My previous hairstylist was named Nadine.
No, not really. I could understand people thinking that names like Harold, Gerald, Arnold, etc could sound old fashioned, but I never thought the name Nadine sounded too old fashioned.
"Arnold, my love, why must I worship you...and NEVER EVER tell?"
I know a Eugene and my aunt's name is Rhonda. Still, you have to admit those names are better than the stupid names parents are coming up with today.
sharePhoebe and Sid aren't that strange. A lot of times "Sid" is short for Sidney (Sydney, just spelled differently) which is a fairly common name, I've known a lot of people named Sydney. Phoebe isn't to strange either, like another poster said, Hey Arnold! was a 90s show and Friends was also a super popular 90s show where there was a character named Phoebe. When I was a kid, we had a family dog we named Phoebe after a character in the popular movie Mystic Pizza. It's definitely not as uncommon as the other names!
I think back when I was a kid those were weird names, but they aren't so much anymore.

Those names so decent compared to some of the names most people are calling their kid, especially these celebrities naming them Apple, Pilot Inspektor(I feel for this kid when he hit grade school), North, and etc.
Eugene isn't a bad name, Arnold isn't a bad name either, the same with Gerald, Pheobe is a cute name for a girl the names does sound a little old fashioned but respectable.
When I have a baby I want to name my kid Joshua.

Better than Kanye West naming his kid North
or Worse
I met a man Named Jessica once. He told me his mom wanted thought he was going to be a daughter and was going to name her Jessica after her sister who was killed by a drunk driver
but when she ended up having a son, she still went with it and Didn't use "jesse" since her sister hated that as a nickname
