If Debra complained that much in my house

Her and her kids would be out on the street, possibly after I beat the *beep* out of her. I cannot stand her whining.

reply

Well Ray should've given her less to complain about.

Also, it's not *his* house, it's their house.

reply

I have to agree. If I had a husband as selfish and lazy as Ray, like Peggy, I would have kicked him out. He can go back to living with mommy, while she caters to him. He confessed in 1 episode that he wanted that anyhow.

reply

She is a HOUSE WIFE who didn't work and her essential job function was to cook and keep up with house work and that was her role on the show to be a house wife. Ray isn't at fault at all.

reply

That isn't a get out of jail free card. Debra being a housewife has nothing to do with Ray not caring to take care of his children. Or at the very least not cleaning up his own messes. Or not wanting Debra to do activities outside of the house because he doesn't want to pull any weight while she's not there. Like voting against her for that reason. Or not wanting her to work at the lodge. Or not wanting her to go back to work, because when she's not there, he has to be.

Ray is lazy. And admitted he wished he'd married his mother because he likes to be taken care of. He wants a mommy, not a wife. I Love Lucy took place in the 50s, and Ricky and Fred were still more involved than Ray ever was. Ricky cooked every now and again. And even though they didn't do much housework, they could at least fix stuff. And Ricky knew how to manage money and was good with finance and business - Lucy was the one who blew money. Ray handled the checkbook for a few weeks, and got their service turned off, and charged $300.00 in penalties. Andy tried to help him, and Ray didn't understand a word he said. He had to sneak and borrow money from Robert, then lied on Debra saying she had a spending problem. Then there was the go-cart incident where he blew $1,000.00.

There was the episode where everyone agrees Ray is useless in times of need. He goes to Marie, and asks if she'd want him around if something bad is happening, and she admits she'd rather have Frank with her lol

I am with Ray on this.

Then you would be committing assault. And she would press charges against you and you would most likely spend some time in prison. And you would not get to see your children except for court-ordered chaperoned visits. So think about what you're saying. Do you really want all that to happen? Only because your spouse "whines too much"? Dude, you do not put your hands on a woman, you get the hell out of there and take time to cool off. Domestic violence is NEVER the answer. It doesn't matter who does it. I can't believe some people still think that violence is the answer for problems with people in their lives. That's just disgusting. And yes, as several people have already reminded me, this is a sitcom. A woman like Debra would never have married a schmuck like Ray in the first place IRL, I'm sure of it. So just calm down and reconsider your actions, because as we are all aware, actions have consequences. For real!

Thank you. I figured this jackass needed a dose of reality.

Domestic Violence, what about when Deborah starts assaulting Ray in "Bad Moon Rising". Is that OK?

reply

Actually in REAL LIFE, ppl do marry ABOVE and BELOW them... I've seen attractive, educated women with scummy, loser men and viceversa. All different kinds of relationships exist.

reply

Well then it is a good thing that she is only a fictional character then

reply

No judge is going to put a woman and 3 children out of their home, after her husband has beaten her and thrown them out.

reply

I love how the original poster said "Her and her kids ...". As if the kids aren't Raymond's kids (i.e., their kids), also. LOL.

reply

Ave, you're a girl. And you're jealous of Debra. And if you were a guy, my money would be on her beating you up.

At any rate, it's quite clear she was the straight one in the comedy, and that Ray started the trouble 98% of the time, and tried to do sneaky things to her. She was really quite reasonable.

Which makes your "assault" on her even more ignorant. I'm glad most of the posters here tell you the truth about assault, and that it's not a joking matter.

Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

reply

"The truth about assault"? "Not a joking matter"? Oh yes, yes it's always okay if it's a MALE getting hit or hurt, right?
