In her first episode, when she first meets Robert, I believe Debra says she knows Amy from they both worked in PR together, which Debra of course no longer does being a housewife and stay-at-home mother. But what about Amy?
shareI believe Amy was working and even after her marriage. Not much is said about her career and if you could imagine how it would be if Amy didn't work and had to stay home with Marie ( when she and Robert moved in with them ). I'd be surprised if homicide wasn't committed.

I don't recall if it was any time they ever mentioned if Amy had a job or was a house wife, but if anybody can think of any episode where it was mentioned please feel free to reply with the episode name and season.
share"Meant to Be" episode, Season 5 Ep 4. Amy tells Robert she'd be at the office should he wish to send flowers. Then he comes around to Ray and Debra's place as Amy is there upset because he spilled about Joanne and asks what her work address is.

For some reason I've always assumed her and Debra use to work together. It was never mentioned but just what I assumed. Also on one episode she says all her friends work. This is in the one I think where she goes to work at an advertising agency and she's fired for arguing with her boss.

shareIn the episode, Who's Handsome, Season 1, Episode 14, Debra introduces Amy to Robert, stating that they worked in public relations together. Amy mentions she now has a corner office. In the episode, Brothers, Season 2, Episode 3, Marie mentions that Amy is away on a business trip, so she is still working. I cannot recall any other episodes that mention Amy's work.
shareI just watched an ep that had Debra complaining to Ray that she feels life is passing her by. She just had lunch w her friends and mentioned Amy had received a promotion at work, another was always traveling, etc
On another ep, IIRC, Amy mentions spending a week's salary on a dress (or shoes?).
Peter talks to Robert about how Amy, the favored child, moved to the big city and had a job, car, and apt.
I am pretty sure she kept her job after they married....they went on an Italian honeymoon, then bought Frank and Marie's house...big expenses that required more than a police lieutenant salary. IDK, I just got the impression that she kept her job after they were married.
I would hope so for Amy's sanity. Could you imagine being stuck in the house with Marie and Frank all day and night?
