"Why? Was she yelling?"

Said by both Ray and Ally about Debra. In the same episode. That was the reputation she had acquired by the eighth season. That she yelled a lot. How incredibly hilarious. But dont forget what Debra told Ray at the beginning of the sixth season. That HE was the reason she yelled. Ray should have realized that eventually. But he was dumb and had an ego that didnt let him admit that he had any faults. As for Ally, it really was too bad that she saw her mother in that light. Probably thanks to Ray brainwashing her against her mother. And Ray didnt like it when he perceived Debra making jokes about him to the kids as "turning his kids against him" and "poisoning their minds". Guess Debra just can't win. And that's sad.

Dude, we get. You hate Ray, and Debra is the long suffering wife. Let it go. It's a tv show.

OK, now you be quiet. I'll post whatever I want here about anything I want. Within reason, of course. What about that do you not understand? And you know what else? What I like, I take seriously. That's all you need to know. Begone, you judgmental busybody.

Where in my post was I judgemental? And yes, you can post what you want, but vary the topic just a bit. You post about the SAME EXACT STUFF EVERY DAY. We get it, Raymond is a horrible human being. That's the whole friggin point of the show!! These are fictional characters, no one is actually being mistreated here. Everyone on this show had major character flaws, yet you harp on about one person, day after day. It's quite obvious that you watched the show A LOT, because you are very knowledgeable about the episodes and plot points. This begs the question: why did you watch it so extensively, if one character drives you to such a constant state of anger?? I'm genuinely curious here, not being sarcastic or any of that. I want your real rationale, not a toddler-esque comeback. Make me understand.

Hiya

Yes, it's definitely sad what Deb has to endure and it does cause her to yell, but - just an observation - when Ray's behaviours are taken out of the equation; she still has something fiery in her nature that she doesn't take responsibility for. The amount of times I've seen her yelling and/or trying to destroy/stamp/kick something when she's mad, and this is without the usual wrongdoing from Ray/Marie - it's like she hates it if she's wrong and doesnt have someone to auto-blame; it backs her into a corner and she throws loud physical tantrums. Sometimes she does try to throw Ray under the bus, because she wants to maintain control and righteousness, just like he throws her under the bus because he wants to be liked.

Ray certainly is a catalyst for a lot of her yelling, I don't take that away from her, but she does play a part in her own reputation too - directly; because she has behavioural issues even when Ray is treating her well, and indirectly; because when it is Ray/Marie pushing her buttons, she chooses to stay and chooses how she reacts (like they say; you can't control what people do, only what you do).

I also don't think Ray spends enough time with the kids to be wholly blamed for brain-washing, when Deb does play her own part in what they see when it's just them at home. She's been at home yelling at them, under the common stress of keeping a house while raising young kids - and that's something she wanted and chose to do in life. If she wants to be seen differently, then it starts with her, even when she has other catalysts to blame.

Those are just my thoughts to round out the point you were making about Ray; I'm certainly not saying he's a prize or anything lol. I definitely agree Deb can never win - even with all my above thoughts, I know she's playing a losing game in that mad family! :-)

They really are all crazy lol. Ray is lazy and a wimp, it's ridiculous the stuff he allows his mother to do and say to his wife. Robert can be manipulative at times, just like Ray and Marie, but not so mean spirited. Marie would get her a$$ handed to her in my house, family or not. And Frank gets a pass cause he's just too funny. But they all, have issues. From what I can tell in flashback episodes though, it seems Debra was fairly pleasant and easy going until she married into the freak show, so I tend to give her a break on most of her meltdowns.

In the flashback episodes, How We Met, and The Wedding Parts 1 & 2, Debra was a witch even then!

I don't think he's that bad. Debra over reacts. Same with Carrie and Doug on king of queens.
