The finale.

It's good when TV shows don't go for a cheesy happy ending, even sitcoms. But this one was always full of absurd humour and a very light tone, so the ending didn't fit. Also, erasing MARY's memory is pointless if they don't erase everyone else's. When she wakes up, people are going to mention the SOLOMONS. Also, no goodbyes? In one way or another, they affected the lives of the people who went to the party. And HARRY slept with MRS. DUBCEK, his almost mother-in-law?! Ewww!

I know, I know, they told the producers about the cancellation when they were still working. But they were given 4 episodes to wrap everything up. Oh, and they filmed a cliffhanger in case they were given another season. Sorry, but none of this excuses it.

Overall, do I think it's a good show? Not quite. When it started, it demanded way too much suspension of disbelief, even for a show about aliens. I mean, there are episodes where they don't know things they already should. But during the first season, it was just so damn funny that I didn't care. As it progressed, it went through The MORK Syndrom. For those who don't know, Robin Williams told the writers that they couldn't keep writing his character after season 2 as someone who didn't know about sex and stuff, because then he'd go from someone who doesn't know about Earth to an idiot. Come on! You live in a foreign world for 2 years and you haven't even heard of the concept of dreaming?!

But overall, it's not a bad show.
