Did Anyon Else Find Tommy Not Funny?

I never found Tommy funny at all,I don't get why so many people liked him.

Dollman VS Demonic Toys is the best movie EVER!

I must say that I thought Tommy was the least funny of the four, but he was still funny. I'm amazed by how popular he is in Hollywood right now. He's a good actor, but I haven't seen a performance of him yet that blew me away. I especially don't get why people are always referring to Inception, great movie but there was nothing remarkable about the acting of most actors (they played their part well, but other than Dicaprio none of the other actors had to show off their skills).

I think because he's the oldest of them all he's actually supposed to be the most "serious" of the bunch, therefore only ironically funny.

Tommy is my least favorite. His story lines have always been least interesting to me and I've never found him funny.

Yeah, even Harry had better stories then Tommy.

I love little Tommy. As he grew up, he became less interesting. Actually, as the seasons went on, everybody on the show became less interesting and more cartoonish. I thought the first 2 seasons were perfectly written but the other seasons deteriorated in quality very quickly.

I liked Tommy but maybe it was because his problems were more closely related to my own situation being that I am young. My least favorite main character was Sally.

I love Tommy! They were all funny.

he was the worst character and his acting was the poorest, but i also think that be cause he was young and also party the character too. still didnt take away from the show and he turned out to be a decent actor later on in his life.

It's not like the writers give Tommy comedic lines and he bombs. They do make him kind of the straight man on the show. Sort of like Marilyn on the Munsters.

i always thought funny the fact that he is actually the oldest in the group. but yeah... i know what you mean.

I think the problem is that the character was the most underdeveloped. He didn't have anything that really distinguished him from other teens on any other sitcom.

I'm starting with the season one dvd, and I love them all!

i the 1st season of this show and the show was very funny!all of the characters are funny!every episode had the word"Dick"in the title!joseph gordon-levitt is a very good actor!

I don't think he was anywhere near as funny as Dick, but he was great and very likable. I was more amused by him than I was Harry or Sally most of the time. JGL really did work as a the old wise alien soul trapped in a teens body. I love the humor of that even though it wasn't super laugh out loud.

I don't think it is fair to call him not funny. He was funny, he just wasn't as laugh out loud funny or physically funny as Harry. Taking into consideration he started as a 13/14 year old playing a grumpy old man/surly teen all in one. And so much of the show was about the adults experiences and over acting or making jokes at Tommy's expense. He was just given a different kind of humor to play. When he was given the jokes he was as funny as the rest of them.
