Tommy and Alyssa-Spoilers for season 5.

This is spoilers for Season 5, so if you have not watched that far please do not read any further.

In the Valentine's episode Tommy cheats on Alysa. When he tells her she is upset and leaves. Then a few episodes later they are working together at a cookie chain and everything is fine between them. Did I miss something?

I know-it is a television program. I know that we can imagine things happen off-screen to explain holes in plots. But that was a big event. Tommy tells her he slept with another woman on the day they were suppose to sleep together.

It just seems like another exchange would be in order in another episode. Him apologizing or having a conversation with Don and Don explaining to him that women do not like their boyfriends sleeping with other women. It could have been funny.

So anyway, I was just wondering if somehow I missed an episode. If not, then I am wondering if anyone else noticed that and were annoyed by it. I give television writers a lot of slack over these things, but to have them be together again all happy like nothing happened was a bit of a stretch.

All she said was that she had to think about it. Guess she did and still wanted the relationship.

That is true. I would have just have liked to have seen the exchange between them talking it out. Like I mentioned in my previous post it would have been cool had Tommy talked to Don and Don explain to Tommy that a woman would not think that her boyfriend sleeping with another woman would be a wonderful thing. It would have went with their mission of learning about human relationships.

Over all I loved the show. It was just little details like this I wish they had paid attention to and not just left them hanging.

It doesn't make a difference to this topic but the episode where they were working together at the pretzel shop (prod # 510) was filmed before the Valentine's episode (prod # 514).

But she still made appearances in later filmed episodes.

Thank you for pointing that out to me. I was watching the episodes on streaming, so they must have the episodes out of order.

But yeah, she was in later episodes, and they broke up when Sally went to Alyssa's school and broke up with her for Tommy, and then she stayed mad at him for the rest of the season.

Well, Sally broke them up in the season finale. So, it didn't really matter much. And then Tommy was away in college for most the last season.

In the Valentine's episode Tommy cheats on Alysa.

The writing for that storyline was excellent IMO. I always found it very "alien-ish" (as well as super funny) for Tommy to have sex with another girl with the genuine intention of being better at it for Alyssa not understanding how upsetting it would be. He is honestly at a loss for why she would be so upset with him doing that.
