The Hangover (SPOILER)

I can't believe that they could possibly get away with that scene with the tiger attacking there car! What a blatant rip-off of the scene in Tommy Boy with the deer.

Anyone else offended by this?

no

I woulsnt say i was offended but yeah, a blatant rip off. As soon as they were driving with the tiger just form the camera angle I knew what was going to happen.

Of course it was, it was even framed the same, no one can argue it wasn't a ripoff, homage, theft, etc...

"The Hangover" is far better than this tripe.

Full blooded Latino and proud of it! (since 1976)

Yeah, they ripped off that scene but it's not like Tommy Boy was 100% original either. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, which was made eight years earlier, featured a torn-to-hell car (granted it wasn't by a deer, but still similar) and a very similar scene where the two leads are singing along to the radio in the torn-to-hell car.

I'm sure Planes, Trains, etc probably stole some jokes from another movie too. It happens. The Hangover was still pretty original in the end.

Married... With Children did the same thing with a bear around the same time as Tommy Boy too. The concept's been used by a lot of TV shows and movies, both before and after Tommy Boy.

wow dont you realize how much of a comedy stereotype the "crazy animal attacking people in tight quarters" is? it was used in countless films before and after *beep* Tommy Boy.
