Contrary to popular belief, Chris Farley does not "carry" this movie. He needed David Spade to play off of, and vice versa. Neither of these guys could've been recast. :-)

My favorite David quotes. The ones I always think of and laugh.

"Aw, I've interrupted happy time."

"Hi, I'm Earth. Have we met?"

"Aye Carumba!"

Tommy: "It's a clip on."
David: "Heh-heh, are you surrre?" (voice and expression)

"Hmm, he seems like a nice guy." (funny voice)

"Where's Moron, okay Moron's here, so McKeesport..."

What's missing? ;-)

Chris Farley nor David Spade carried this movie individually. They carried it together, equally. They held their own against each other. For these roles, they needed each other. If either one of their characters were played by different actors, it just wouldn't have worked.

Richard: "And just a shade under a decade. All right!"
Tommy: "Hey--you know a lot of people go to college for seven years!"
Richard: "I know. They're called doctors."

Tommy: "It's a clip on!"
Richard: "Heh-heh. Are you sure?"
I love how David said that, his voice and expression made it funny.

"He's a big dumb animal, isn't he folks?"

"You're brain has a *thick* candy shell."

"You know that thing in the back of the car? It's *not* an air freshener. It's a dead, rotting deer carcass."

"I'm going to ask for directions to our next big, huge embarrassing failure."

"Look Mommy, Rhino's getting too close to the car!"
