Why Was Rob Lowe Uncredited?

Anyone know? Sometimes when celebs make cameos in movies they're uncredited, but here he's like the third main character.

How any self-respecting woman can support the Bible after reading 1 Timothy 2:11-15 is beyond me.

Good question. I'm wondering the same thing.

I can only guess he wasn't happy with the finished film and had his name taken off of it. Of course, only Rob Lowe knows for sure . . .

From Yahoo Answers:

Robe Lowe was a friend of Chris Farley and did the movie as a favor to him. He was also doing Stephen King's The Stand at the time and was contractually obligated so needed to be uncredited in Tommy Boy for that reason.

There are several reasons why they do this:
1. The part isn't big.
2. They are doing the film as a favor to the director.
3. They are ashamed of the product.

He isn't exactly the third main character, more of a supporting role. Maybe he realized what crap this was.

Actually, according to all concerned in interviews, The Iblis is right about the personal favor part. I don't know about not being allowed to be credited because he was under contract making the Stand, but Lowe and Farley were good friends.

So, you're basically talking out of your ass right now, as we already have figured out the answer.

And you didn't even read the whole thread, numb-nuts.

Ironically, he'd grown so fat only work-out pants would fit him.

reply

Basically because he wasn't properly paid. He did it as a favor for little money so it wouldn't be cool for the marketing people to bill this as a "Rob Lowe movie", which he prevented by keeping his name out of it.
