So people's notions of beauty are ever changing but holy smokes when she came out of the pool she was scary. Scary face, gross body. She looked like Skeletor. Did people think she was hot 20 years ago, or were they totally freaked out by her then? Yikes.
shareI thought she was pretty hot, although I will say that the pool angle was a little weird. It wasn't as flattering as other shots were since the angle made her look really angular.

To me it was one of those things where it makes sense in the reality of the movie. Like the Callahan auto parts factory being the major employer and financial source in Sandusky, it's something that furthers what is happening. They validate the choice by having the poolside exchange where Big and Little Tom remark on her attractiveness, so it doesn't seem odd that an attractive young man like the Rob Lowe character.
Think of it like Lois from Family Guy--to me, she doesn't appear attractive, but in the world of the show, she's a 10, an idea that's reinforced through the direct comments of the other characters.
At one stage in the 1980's, Bo Derek was considered by many to be the most beautiful woman in the world. She was in the movie '10', which is where the idea of a woman being a 10 comes from or, at the very least, what popularised and globalised the idea. People probably didn't think she was still a 10 in 1995 but she was still very famous for being beautiful then, so just having her in the movie made a statement that the character was supposed to be a 10. If that makes sense?

It really surprised me to just realize she was only 38 when this was made. Whenever I saw this I always just thought of her as a hot older lady, but christ she was only in her 30s???
shareI was 12-13 when I saw this movie and didn't know about the movie "10" or that they were referencing it, but I thought she was beautiful. Still do. Sure she probably looks a little older than 38 (closer to like 45) but doesn't make her any less sexy (then again I'm biased, I always liked older/more mature women).
