Did anyone feel the sex scene between the two characters was a little disappointing? The movie led up to sil finally mating but I found it to be a little too short. I thought the scene should have been more explicit, like friday the 13th 2009 with more moaning. I mean the movie was ll about Sil wanting to mate and the scene only lasted a minute. I read the screenplay once and I remember the scene being a little more graphic with arden doing sil in the spoons position

shareComplete guess here but I'd venture to say they changed it to her being on top for a few reasons. And yes, I am way over-analyzing this but why not?
1) It is much easier to show off her body on camera when she is bouncing on top. And let's be honest, that's what this movie was about.
2) There's a symbolism to her being on top, as she is clearly dominate in the act and if you want to look deeper, it could symbolize her species being superior to humans. Spooning, in addition to covering more of Natasha, puts Arden in control and makes it more intimate. It was about reproduction instinct for Sil. All she was interested in was getting the necessary DNA to create offspring.
3) It could have been more explicit but it didn't need to. The average man isn't going to last forever, especially with a supermodel riding them. The pace could also be attributed to it all being intercut with Dan figuring it out and getting Press. The whole movie was kind of a "race against time" and this was also. Had to get to them before they finished or before Sil got away.
Again, over-analyzed to the extreme. I honestly thought the scene felt fairly realistic, especially when compared to some sex scenes found in other movies.

You have to remember Sil isn't having intercourse for the sheer joy of it (like Arden was). She was simply having sex to reproduce (if it felt good then that's a bonus!). Her mating was more like animals or insects in that she was simply looking to reproduce and have babies. In fact, she didn't seem to be having a great time like he was. She wasn't moaning or screamjng "Oh God!". In the swimming pool sex scene (attempted sex) she told the guy "I wanna have a baby". Not exactly what a girl tells a guy if she's just looking to get laid.
