Was that a cake (spoiler alert)?
At the end, we see a guy carrying a thing on an elevated thing surrounded by kids with ribbons on sticks. Was that a cake? Why was he bringing cake to the church? They were all leaving. The bride and groom are supposed to cut the cake, but they were leaving. What a risky way to carry a cake. It could have fallen into the mud. One of Brandon’s tossed coins could have landed in it. What if Mrs. Jennings got the slice with the coin wedged in it? She could have choked. What about bird poop? This was pre-penicillin era. That could have been deadly. Bugs too.
