Could have been an NDE, or just the initial phase of a soul transferring into the after-life. (Which is currently just a giant suck-fest according to The Prophecy.)

According to the actual bible, which most christians blithely ignore, noone, EVER has gone to heaven. Not one human has ever "stepped foot there". That only happens after the apocalypse where around 144,000 people rise from the grave (literally) and ascend to heaven. Of course according to the bible hell is pretty much reserved for satan too but they ignore that as well.
