Worse than Song of the South
Disney should have known better by 1995.
share...nd whyy is it wourse dan song of the south?
shareNo.
shareIt's interesting that this and HOND, despite both being controversial, get a pass while "Song of the South" doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

Really? You mean I'm not alone in disliking them?
shareNope. Just look it up. They have plenty of haters.
shareI also hate Disney's Hercules. It is one of the dumbest, shallowest, stupidest of the Disney Renaissance films I ever saw, and it gave me nightmares.
shareReally? Why is it stupid?
shareI'm afraid it would fill up an entire encyclopedia, so I'll just give the cliffnotes version:
- this was a story that never should have been turned into a kid's movie to begin with
- they swapped out the original story and stole the plotlines from Superman and Rocky
- the message it pushes sounds really stupid, despite it being a good one (I blame bad presentation)
- the Muses acting and singing like Whitney Houston annoyed me greatly
- everyone in ancient Greece acts like modern Americans, rather than ancient people
- the modern materialism clashes really bad with the setting (in a great fit of irony, it's both historically accurate and anachronistic at the same time, strange as that sounds)
- the myths were messed up, twisted sideways, and corkscrewed six ways to Sunday (plus they stole some ideas from the 80s "Clash of the Titans" film)
- Hades comes very close to stealing the show and ruining the entire movie
- Hades' character is extremely annoying, in-your-face, and his motivation and character make absolutely no sense; he was barely even IN the original Herakles myth!
Fair enough.
shareBetter cancel it then!!!
shareMaybe it's because I'm not a U.S citizen, but I quite like it. Pocahontas is one of the best Disney princesses imo.
