Stabs herself with a needle she just gave the Spacey Charector a shot with, Possibly infecting herself ----

Would it not have been as safe to Amputate the finger as soon as they know it brok the skin

Surly they had the materials handy for such a thing

It quickly travels in the bloodstream thruout the body. If anything, they could have amputated most of her body to try and save her. Just doing a finger wouldn't be enough
