i was so confused with the plane scene where theat 1 dude is flying out to see her. i know nothing about planes but what happened there? he was asking for clearance and they said they couldnt see him on the radar or w/e then suddenly he slams into some tower. i have watched this countless times but i still dont get this part!

I think he was just really off course and not paying attention to the objects ahead. He was messing around with his instruments too much.
shareYou missed the point. Dale was killed by the bad computer guys because he was on to their secret. They arranged it so that his on-board instrumentation was reading incorrectly. He thought he was one place (according to his ILS) while in truth he was far from there and BOOM, he was gone.

shareOnly problem with the continuity here is the fact that you can still see where the hell you're going. You don't fly by instruments in clear weather, and those stacks (which looked like a nuclear reactor) would be lit up like a Christmas tree because otherwise--as demonstrated--they make one hell of an obstacle to planes if you aren't looking.
