'Mozart's ghost!'

Ha, I always loved this movie. I've watched it a hundred times, and probably half of those viewings were probably done on my once a month "lay day" (I can't think of the popular term for it off the top of my head: just laying around all day on the couch, in front of a fire, reading books or watching movies while surfing the net with my laptop on my lap).

Not just on my 'lay days', when I'll randomly surf the net for hours, I'll have nights when I can't sleep and will surf the net for 2 hours striaght. And of all things...I NEVER thought of looking up that Mozart's Ghost website she brings up in the beginning! Ha. I never expected to find it; I'm sure the website wasn't real. But I remember thinking when I watch the movie "I wonder if anyone's ever made a webpage to look exactly like the one in the movie", and then I always forgot to look it up. So I tried it now and can't find anything like it.

I just thought it would be a fun search to do on one of my lay days. I'll keep search if other people do! Let's share what we find!

Even though it's dated, I like The Net. Actually, I like it more *because* it's dated, heh. :]

I just got mozartsghostonline.com from Google but I cannot view it, because when I click on the URL it says it's an application: application/x-httpd-php

Eh, no I'm not going to open it. :/

I like dated movies too. I love watching old movies with 'theories' or 'fears' of what the future technologies will MIGHT to!

I LOVE watching her play Wolfenstein in the beginning! :-D I had Wolfenstein when I was a kid, and I found a brand new CD at a store a few years ago. Doom too. I really miss those old computer games. I wish they would reformat older games like Loom and Monkey Island and sell them. Those older mind games were fabulous! Don't get me wrong, I love the new videogames, but I still prefer the older ones. I don't need graphics to look as real as can be in order to enjoy a game.

Me too! And it's not just because I suck at modern games. I play some of the old NES/Mega Drive/Master System games on my PC. (I don't know if you will find those old PC games you like as ROMS, but you could try looking.)

Too cute, a_rarden, but perception is everything. Doom is not an old computer game... and if you think it is, I wonder what you'd think of Colossal Cave Adventure, one of the original text-only puter games loaded with the *very old* Wang workstations?

Don't worry, one day in the not-so-distant future, you, too, will be considered an oldefarte like me.

It happens to us all at some point.

I have no doubts about that! I'm 24 and I feel old as I watch my niece and nephew surpass me at my computer skills and general knowledge at 8 and 9. I look back and think of how pitiful my generation looks in comparison (what I remember learning and being capable of in 3rd grade compared to what I see my niece learning).

I think as technology continues to change at such a fast pace, people will begin hitting their mid-life's (or the simple feeling of not being young anymore) much faster than ever before. Regardless of what's considered old based on the average length of life, I believe the speed of changes that we're seeing nowadays are going to make people feel older much quicker than ever before.

Haha, you remind me of my brother. My brother's 6 years older than me and I'm in marketing, and he gets really annoyed when I get into my psychological discussions and refer to his class as a whole other generation: "I'm not THAT much older than you!? I'm Mom's child too you know!" I'll tell you what I tell my brother: I'm not calling you old...I'm merely pointing out the extreme differences we've seen in the short period of time. The 6 years between us caused the two of us to live extremely different lives, build different personalities, and have different expectations and morals...whether he wants to admit that or not.

Just looking at it at work. It's nothing particuarly cryptic. Some guy's personal website.

Nevermind.

I wished there was a real Mozart's Ghost!

I want to go in a chat room and meet Cyber Bob. Maybe we'll even meet up at the Santa Monica Pier.

It's just for fun. :] There's also the old The Net game, and another called "EntrapNet". I don't know if they work though, as I havent tried them (might do, with my old laptop, later.) The website is really old.

I'm sure this is in a posting somewhere, but back in college ('94 - '98), I heard rumors that Sandra Bullock herself would log on to IRC and Y! Chatrooms and chat with people.

Given the anonymity of chat rooms, I realize it could all be fabricated. But, the fact that it is possible intrigues me.
