Is this like...?

Eraser 1996. Or what? Sounds like the same story
Which is better? (No spoilers please)

Eraser (1996) is a high octane Arnie actioner with some truly spectacular explosions and some incredibly violent and bloody moments. It's also a hard action film for adults with multiple cuss words.

The Net (1995) is more a techno thriller, a hitchcockian thriller but with computers and the Internet. It has no explosions but it does have an always appealing Sandy B as the heroine and a wonderfully smarmy Jeremy Northam as the antagonist. It also had no cuss words aside from one F word.

Similar is some respects. Different in others.

Which is better?

I liked them both.

The Eraser deletes people's lives (anything that connects them to who they were) such as burning photos, driver's licenses and anything sentimental so that they can go into witness protection. There's some digital work, but it's mostly real-world.

In The Net, a programmer stumbles onto a national conspiracy and they erase her identity to make it harder for her to go to the police.
