Along with maximun overdrive , The stand and the langoliers, this movie should have a remake. Even better if they follow the origial short story by Stephen King.
The Mangler is one of the best stories I have ever read.
They just need a better script, better actors and new FX, specially the langoliers, wich have a good perfomance but the fx suck.
Not sure if it would work as a feature length film, but a remake could improve in some areas.

Maximum Overdrive is a CLASSIC and should be LEFT ALONE. Besides, they made Trucks in 1997, which WAS the story Maximum Overdrive was loosely based on.
shareI actually kind of liked The Mangler, it's really underrated. Considering that the story is so short, it's hard to imagine it being remade into a feature film without adding a lot of extra content into the story. I've always wondered why is wasn't adapted into a TV episode, like a Tales from the Darkside episode or something. They should take all King's short stories and make a TV show out of them or something.

They already made a tv-show with King's short stories. It's called Nightmares and Dreamscapes........It's kinda shitty though. They should remake that tv-show LOL.

Nah, it was pretty good. And they should most definitely restart that series. Particularly on one of the cable channels like AMC etc or on one of the premium services as a lot of today's series are of theatrical movie quality.
