Terrible direction

But that's not uncommon with Kevin smith films. You watch Kevin smith movies for the witty dialogue not the tremendous acting or direction. Very apparent from beginning of mallrats, when Brody walks into mall for first time, and Ben affecks character "accidentally" runs into him. Lol I laugh everytime I see tht because of how cheesy it looks. Even an amateur film school student woulda asked for another take there. But again, it's campy *beep* like that which makes me love clerks and mallrats. After those, Kevin started trying to hard and taking himself too seriously. Am I right g's?

Yeah, another good example of this is right before Brodie stinkpalms Mr. Svenning, Svenning seems to like nod to somebody off camera as if greeting them, and doesn't even seem to notice Brodie practically right there in front of him. I'm surprised I've never seen that brought up here before.
