How Could This Movie Flop So Badly?

This is one of my favorites of all time. I am surprised it's not rated higher here on IMDB.

a 7.6 is not a flop lol. I'm amazed it has this high of a rating as the ratings usually go down over the years. I was glad to see it maintained such a high one

7.6 is actually above average. If you're talking about how poorly it did in the box-office you can blame WB for that.

Yeah the box office was very poor. To bad this is still 1 of my favorite movies.

'A Little Princess' was very well-received critically, but unfortunately it was allegedly down to a poor marketing campaign which meant that it didn't do as well at the box office as it could have done. I remember in an Ebert/Siskel review, they implored parents to see 'A Little Princess,' though they acknowledged the irritating fact that parents would be more likely to take their children to see 'Gordy' because it has a cute pig on the poster. Sad.
