Why did they live in India?
I've never been able to figure that out. I've never read the book, so maybe it explains there. But does anyone know why Sara and her father lived in India?
shareSara's father is a captain in the British army. The British ruled India as a colony back in the 19th century. Sara was born there since her parents were stationed in that country. It is the same situation as with "military brats" of any country's armed forces. Many offspring of the armed forces are born outside of their parent's native land.
