Dreadful Film
So many holes, so much loathing. Another poster in another thread said that if they addressed the many and sundry holes in the story there would be no story, so true and nothing of value would have been lost. Predictable, unnecessary, and ultimately a sum of zero, really, what was the point? How this film became "critically acclaimed" is truly astonishing. A better story would have been one of Sara and her father's adventures in India, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Sara's father could have met a kinder Ms. Minchin who would have then became Sara's truly loving new mother, and everyone would have had a happy ending. But oh, no, not enough adversity there, let's just go with a transparent and boring formula. No small wonder this film was a box office flop.
