I cannot get myself to watch it where the premise of some guy goes to Vegas to commit suicide by drinking himself to death and meets a hooker with a heart of gold for him.
Just seems boring, depressing and all around dumb and overrated.
Dunno why such a retarded premise gets such high marks and praise.
Nic Cage makes it slightly less depressing with some humor.

shareAgreed. Shue is always very good but Cage gives a career performance as a man in a death spiral. He simply doesn’t care anymore and Shue is his comfort for a few weeks but we know where he is going and he does not care.
Great performances by both Cage and Shue.
It is a depressing film but also interesting. And Elisabeth Shue gets her boobs out, a lot.
