Very realistic scene....drunk as a skunk for too long, getting up too quickly and losing balance, having a potentially lethal accident that is laughed off with "I am like a prickly pear" as glass must still be in his back!
The most disturbing scene of the whole film for me.

Yep, I cringed so hard when he hit that glass table.

I cringed when the motel owner came out and told Sera to take Ben back to the room and leave in the morning... and don't ever come back.
