Nicholas Cage's peak, there's that..

Down that hatch. Has to be the most amazing leading male performance of all time among others. I mean there are great performances and there are just priceless performances as well. After a while, this has to be one of those priceless and unrankable performances.

Yeah, for some reason he has incredible talent at playing characters who lose control over themselves, and further proves this in THE BAD LIEUTENANT.

Yep this was pretty much his best work and it was all down hill afterwards. You watch him in this masterpiece then go watch The Wicker Man and say to yourself WTF!

He was great in this. I like him in Moonstruck and Raising Arizona too.

His action movies leave a lot to be desired.

The only performance I've seen of his even close to this was in the Weatherman. An underrated movie in my opinion.

I think he's an underrated actor as well, based on this movie and the few other serious acting performances he has done he is definitely capable. I think he has just been miscast for much of his career.

But I agree, I was surprised by how good he was and I completely understand why he won the Oscar.

At the risk of offending I have to say that to me Nicholas Cage is one of the biggest scenery chewers of all time and could benefit greatly from acting lessons with the likes of Meryl Streep, Rachel Weisz, Juliette Binoche, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Julianne Moore, Ben Kingsley, and Frances Mc Dormand just to mention a few. As I say, just one man's opinion, but one held rather strongly.

Only two things are actually knowable:
It is now and you are here. All else is merely a belief.

Mike Figgis' peak, there's that. At least Cage has done projects of note since LLV.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

It's NICOLAS Cage, there's no H in it; why do people CONSTANTLY Make this mistake?!

In my opinion, this is one of the greatest male performances of all time. His performance was heartbreaking and the Academy was right in giving it to him.
