1995 people were intelligent
When watching some youtuber reactions to this movie, people say stupid things, like 'those coins would be worth 20 dollars, hehe. Even if they are antique coins'.
People don't understand the value of GOLD.
It is RIDICULOUSLY valuable, and people in 1995 would have known this for them to put that scene in the movie. But modern youtubers must be the stupidest and most ignorant people ever. They see a big bunch of GOLD COINS and don't even think they might be gold, they don't even realize gold might be valuable, it's hopeless.
It's like those Mark Dice videos, where he offers to give someone a gold coin or silver coin for their chocolate bar or whatever, and people REFUSE. They are very near some jewellery stores and such that could easily and quickly correctly evaluate those coins for them before they even agree to the trade, and they still REFUSE.
Let me reiterate; PEOPLE REFUSE TO EXCHANGE THEIR 50 CENT DRINK/BAR to something that's worth THOUSANDS or TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars.
Yes, people ARE this stupid now - just watch those 'Gen Z can't answer basic questions' videos (the most scary things I have ever seen!) for proof.
So it shouldn't be surprise me to watch some supposedly intelligent people 'reacting' to this movie, and saying 'that would be worth like 20 dollars, he he', while what wer'e shown MUST be worth about 100 000 or more, because it's a bunch of gold coins..
..but somehow it filles me with hopelessness. How can there be any hope if even these 'prestigious reactors' can't even stop to ponder whether a bunch of gold coins COULD just be worth more than mere 20 bucks.
I mean, AT LEAST pause to let it OCCUR to you! At least stop and wait a second, think how or why those coins COULD be valuable, other than them 'being antique'. (Also, antique coins CAN be quite friggin' valuable)
But nope.. 'see gold, valuate it at 20 bucks, move on, nothing to see here' seems to be the instant reaction these modern people have.
How can there be hope, if the value of gold is THIS badly underestimated by people, who should know better?
Now, I don't hold youtube reactors to super high standard, but being public figures, some kind of celebrities, seeing so many movies (and thus hopefully researching a lot of things so they can give worthy and meaningful comments about what they are watching), they should be at least somewhat knowledgeable about BASIC things, like how valuable things are.
To me, this kind of 'reactors' are no better than Raymond in the movie 'Rain Man', estimating a chocolate bar to cost 100 bucks and expect a car to also cost about 100 bucks.
How clueless can you get?
This is exactly why people are so easy to control.. they are ignorant, stupid animals at best, horrible, selfish, evil demons at worst. Actual intelligent people that are actually human... I guess this planet left them in 1995..
