Why would any kid play this game?
Nothing good happens on each roll. In most games there is a chance of either a good or bad result. Jumanji seems like a stress test to get to the end. Same can be said for Zathura.

shareWell, nobody knows it's dangerous until after they've started on it, so that would be why. And then, they have to finish it to undo everything.

Seems like most kids would be like Sarah Whittle - quitting the game at the first sign of craziness. But, if you've made it through this once, why not just burn the thing?
shareWhat makes you so sure it can be burned, or destroyed any other way? My guess would be that it's been tried. Burying it or throwing it into a river probably seemed like the next best that could be done.
