How do Rico and Dredd have the same DNA if...

...they don't look anything alike? Did I miss something?

In the comic strip both Dredd and Rico are clones of Chief Judge Fargo, and after Rico was incarcerated on Titan his skin became bleached, disfigured, and in order to keep him alive he had cybernetic technology implemented on his face. They could've done that in the movie, but then they would have had to be faithful to the source material which was something they obviously wanted to avoid.

They were identical in the comic, because they were direct clones of Judge Fargo. In the movie they were a mixture of DNA from various prestigious Judges. So I guess it makes sense that they'd be similar but not identical, like most siblings.

Right, but if they're similar but not identical then the computers shouldn't be misreading Rico as Dredd. Especially since Rico is a former Judge and they should have him on file also, and be able to tell the difference.

Just one of many things in this film that makes no fecking sense.

May be they used the same technology seen in Twins with Big Arnie and Little Danny.🐭

Your appearance is determined by more than just DNA.

Perhaps they should have hired the Barbarian Brothers to play both characters, since they are actually twins. Or Have Stallone pull off the twin thing.
