I watch it every Thanksgiving. I can't help it. It's one of my favorite movies.

Watched both this and "Pieces of April" in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Do it every year!

I always watch it the day after Thanksgiving after I have trimmed the tree.... No Black Friday shopping for me! I sit down with some wonderful Thanksgiving leftovers.... The Best the next day, and I enjoy this film because you can always relate to a few of these family members.... if not all. 

I'm right there with you! People should be able to be (literally!) home for the holidays, not working retail at ungodly hours. My friend and I will definitely be watching this film instead of shopping. :)

Just watched it last night! Still a fantastic and funny movie. Will be spending the holiday with family, of course!

The undisputed king of Thanksgiving films will always be Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

I'd say Pieces of April makes the top 5 cut, joined by Hannah and Her Sisters, Scent of a Woman and The Ice Storm.

Home for the Holidays gets an honorable mention.

I'd say Pieces of April makes the top 5 cut, joined by Hannah and Her Sisters, Scent of a Woman and The Ice Storm.

Home for the Holidays gets an honorable mention.

My Thanksgiving centers on stuffing, mashed potatoes... and Roseanne. I'm watching Home for the Holidays for the first time in years and might have to make it an annual tradition. I agree with you though - Planes, Trains & Automobiles is the quintessential Thanksgiving film. I've actually never seen Pieces of April, and can't say I ever will - Katie Holmes is a tough pill to swallow.

A year after that last post and it is on THIS TV.
Only watching because they decided to put Thursday night football on premium cable. And we don't have any cable. A bit slow at 30 minutes in.

It was on the CW today even though it's not even November yet. I remember seeing it at the movie theater when it came out.
