Toward the end of the movie where her dad is talking about the airport, Holly Hunter says a line to her dad that I simple cannot make out. It almost sounds like "drop of water in the bucket" but I am not sure. Any help would be great thanks.

If you are unfamiliar with the expression, it is in reference to her father's line that his favourite memory in his entire life lasts about ten seconds. She is confirming what a small amount that is in comparison. A drop in the bucket is so tiny compared to the volume of the imagined bucket. Ten seconds is such a short time in comparison with such a long life.
Yeah, I had a really hard time getting that line at first, too. She is a little 'choked up' when she says the line and it is really hard to hear. I must have rewound it 3 or 4 times before I got it!
shareWhat Holly says there has always sounded to me like "dropeth lecketh" which of course is meaningless, but that's what it sounds like. I too have backed this scene up repeatedly both on my previous VHS and now on DVD and I still swear that she says "dropeth lecketh." I remember seeing on another site, I don't remember which one, where someone posted that this is in some other language and it means "water under the bridge." That seems to make sense but I would still like to hear an official explanation of that line.
shareI just "borrowed" the DVD from the library and it didn't have "Closed Captioning". That wasn't the only line I couldn't understand even with replaying the scenes.
