what's wrong with calling her a black bitch?

I know, they feel it's disrespectful. But so disrespectful they form a lynching party?

To call any woman a bitch is disrespectful, but this is too much. I often hear men call women bitches as a sign of affection. Women sometimes refer to themselves as a bitch as a means of empowerment. Remember Meridith Brooks song, "Im a Bitch"? Women seem to embrace the word.

Calling a black person black, is that a bad thing? If he said my Black Princess, would she be upset? No.

Now, if he said, you F'n "N-Word" *beep* I could see an ass-whoopin in his future.

But black bitch is a combination of a word with varying levels of meaning with a descriptive adjective accompanying it.

What the guy said to her WAS disrespectful. What it said to me was he could tell she was a Black woman by talking to her on the phone and to point out her color what that level of anger and frustration basically showed he had little tolerance for her. Him speaking to her the way he did... he might as well have used the "n" word.

Your asking this question is really funny to me. I've seen people many times ask, "Why do you have to call yorself African-American? Why can't you just be an American?" Fine and well. So why can't she just be a bitch as opposed to a Black bitch?

What bothered me about that scene was that Kristen was raped and Monet barely showed any compassion toward her. Just "Oh what happened?". Billy calls and she barely gives him an attitude, but when he calls her a "Black Bitch", she gets people to kick his ass. I'm sorry ,but I'd think a rape calls for an ass kicking more than and insult, but that's just me.

reply

We don't know if Kristen told Monet that she was raped. You are just assuming that.

reply

Rape is just a crime.

Being called a black bitch? Well that's a matter of pride!

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.

It seems like she didn't. During the phone scene, Monet looked confused on why Kirsten was crying.

According to John Singleton, it's borderline death sentence for a white guy to call a black girl "b^tch" but kinda funny if a brotha says it. Ha Ha.

Trivia: Same actress Regina King called "b^tch" both times, Ice Cube on both sides of the double-standard.

No, it's not. I'm a black woman, and believe me,there is NOTHING funny about being called a b****, especially a black one. Monet had every right to go off on that white boy because he clearly MADE it a point to call her a black b****,BECAUSE she was black, and because he was a racist a**hole.

A bitch is a bitch. Calling her a black bitch is unnecessary. It's like the black part is also meant to demean her even more. I mean, yeah, she is black but there's no reason to call her that in my opinion since he's not black himself. For some reason, that's just how it works. In some black homes, it's okay to say "get your black ass back here" or something along the lines of calling another person black and cursing at them but for others? It's a no no.

I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life.

You mean why did the people who were offended find it wrong?

It's because she was their friend.

What was wrong with calling her a black b*tch?

Nothing. Nothing at all if a person can handle consequences that may come with it. Nothing. Carry on...

Everyone knows Billy was unnecessarily disrespectful to call Monet a black b*tch. From my pov, what made the situation sky rocket to the highest heights of pisstivity (the state of being pissed off) is the word "black". He shouldn't have taken it there. Had Billy only said, "Put her on the phone b*tch." It still would've been highly disrespectful and he probably still would've still been cursed out.

But things became toxic when he took things to a whole other level when he said, "Put her on the phone YOU BLACK BITCH." That quickly turned the situation into a racist affair. He made it disrespectfully racial and more intense by adding "black" to his comment. So now, he's not only disrespected women but now, specified black women. That is a No No in an environment that's already tense with racism to begin with. It didn't help to call Fudge and the rest gang members knowing fully well they were students just like everyone else.

So yes, for that "black b*tch" business, call in the Calvary (at least as far as what this film portrayed). Any person had just as much right to be at the institution as the next and are not going to stand still and be disrespected by anyone and that's especially someone that's considered an equal.
