Slightly OT: Why isn't Max in Kingdom Hearts?

I mean, they included virtually every Disney character (the classic ones, anyway- Goofy, Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Minnie, Daisy, Pete, Chip and Dale...)is in the video game. He doesn't even get a mention or even a small reference (For example, after one of those boss battles or adventures, Goofy could've said something like "Wow, this is definately something to tell the grandkids!"). Also, I was expecting Goofy to reunite with someone at the end of KH2 (After all, Mickey and Donald did).

...Okay...done ranting now...

Forgive me for thinking too hard, but...I do that a lot.

I've never actually played Kingdom Hearts, but I watch my little brother play them all the time and he and I questioned this. I would love to see a "world" or w/e about "A Goofy Movie".
