I was just wondering...

(Figured I better get this out of my system...anyway...)

I know this movie is kind of a follow-up of Goof Troop. So...if Goof Troop never existed, would they have made this movie?

I'm not trying to be a downer here, but, AGM (And An Extremely Goofy Movie) were both made by Disney Toon Studios, so, AGM and AEGM aren't exactly Disney canon.

Which brings up this next question. Now, I have nothing against Max. He is one of my favorite Disney characters, but...why did they give Goofy a son? lol Is it because they can't seem to fit Goofy with a girlfriend? I dunno. I guess I'm just weird.

And...another thing I'm confused about...they included Max in House of Mouse, Mickey's Once- and Twice Upon A Christmas, and he's a character at various Disney Theme Parks, so why not include him in the Kingdom Hearts video game series?

God, why am I obsessing over this? I don't even like dogs! And I'm 22 years old and not into the whole cougar thing, so I definately do not have a crush on Max...

*sigh* Okay, I'm done rambling.

No they would not, which would be an unfortunate thing. IMO.

I'm half-in-agreement here. Although I love the 1st movie, I understand that its not a major Disney feature. That does not make it some illegitimate Disney child; more like the younger of two sons of nobility. The elder child (in this case, POCAHONTAS) will inherit the titles and property, while the younger won't get anything (not through any fault of his own). Nevertheless, AGM is still a Disney movie, and Max is now a part of the canon.

I think it goes back to giving established characters younger relatives, like Donald Duck having the nephews and Scooby Doo having Scrappy. In this case, Goofy becomes a father instead of an uncle.
And the 'Goofy-as-dad' thing goes way back to the 1950s, when Goofy (minus ears and goof teeth) had a son. Now, some have found the idea of Goofy being reproductive creepy (USAToday's critic Mike Clark- whose video reviews were always a Friday highlight for me until he got fired- said that was the scariest thing about AGM; he probably hadn't seen the earlier shorts). I don't really care much of it. I like Max; he's definitely no Scrappy Doo.

I dunno. I guess KH creators wanted it that way. Max also wasn't in THE THREE MUSKETEERS either.
