1---is this based on a true story because if u read the dedication in Whatever Happened To Janie? it says dedicated to .... who new wat really happened to janie.
2---Shouldn't the title for Whatever Happened To Janie? be Whatever Happened to Jennie? because that is her real name?

We always know her as Janie. Caroline B. Cooney wouldn't have changed the name of her next book because of the last pages of the first one. Even throughout The Voice on the Radio and What Janie Found, the author always keeps the name as Janie because that is who she has become.
