I read somewhere that Tarentino praised this film. I imagine if he directed it, there would be not enough Oscars to go around. Keep everything the same and add a white director. The Acadamy would've been going crazy in love over this film.

Not necessarily, martin Scorsese never won an oscar until gangs of New York. Taxi driver, goodfellas, raging bull, he never won an oscar for any of those
I doubt that, the film was good but not good enought to win best director or best picture of that year. But, it should've be nominated at least, especially for best cinematography.

I agree, this movie was great but not great enough for the Best Picture of 1995. I think of it as a movie to get the point across, not every good movie should be nominated for an Oscar, but if Quentin Tarrantio had a hand in this movie it would have been more graphic probably, and been too much of a talkie.
I like a few of his movies like "Jackie Brown" but less face it sometimes Tarrantino goes a little but out of his way to show a death scene sometimes like quoting the Bible.
...if Quentin Tarrantio had a hand in this movie it would have been more graphic probably...
So true, it would've been a non-stop slashfest. I look at what he did in Inglorious Bastards, a great film, but dang, they were butchering everyone in sight.

Oh God yes, it was "Inglorious Bastards" as well as "Django." I respect the man's work, but he lives on gory In his story telling. Dead Presidents did have it's moments during the hiest that kind was like "damn" like when the black police officer was shot in the head and the look on his face as he went down, but it's far from Tarrantion's graphic image.
I don't know about all that but, I do believe if it was directed and or produced by a white director, it might not have won anything but it definitely would've been held in a different light. A light that would've garnered it a lot more praise.
