I would never applaud domestic violence but self-righteous people condemning Anthony for closing his hands around Juanita's neck need to give the movie a second watch. She did it to herself. And what kind of feckless woman takes the side of a philandering pimp terrorizing her husband? It's not an appeal to emotion but to logic; why would you want to be joined at the billfold with a cowardly gangster who brandishes a gun in your face?

I wouldn't say never. In some extreme situations you just may have to. but this wasn't one of them. Lots of women do need to learn to keep their hands to themselves. Anthony was leaving to take a walk and she tried to prevent him from doing so.
