Eh, I know it's an old movie, but I never watched it before, so thought I'd comment.
I think in real life your accent would only be consistent if you stayed in an isolated place never visited by outsiders, and you never traveled. And of course you never watch movies or TV shows.
Otherwise there are going to be inconsistencies, because we are not machines.
