I cannot help but be reminded of that film every time I see this. It is almost a more contemporary HILTSWALTB underwater, in theme not quality.

Crazy officer starts coup to launch missiles cold war style(but nations reversed).

All but one vessel gets the recall/abort and they cannot get it due to comms damaged during a near miss attempted intercept.

Calmer, more thoughtful military man tries to reason with lunatic - I know some might take issue with me calling the Captain a lunatic, but he really was. Talk about conduct unbecoming...SHEESH! He screams, curses, and rants like an eight year old brat when someone disagrees with him("...NOW STFU"!). I always compare him to the pilot who rides the bomb, but the pilot seemed a lot more reasonable and professional.

I'll leave it there to keep this from droning on, but does anyone else see the connections, or am I the crazy one?
