20 years later, and this still works today. The only thing that glares out of place, for me, is Cher's clothing computer - well, and those cell phones.

Completely agree, although there's the fact that everyone at least has a cell phone, just like now. Remember the scene where a cell phone rings and everyone at the dinner table answers their cell and says "Hello?" It's a biting social commentary on modern (materialistic, vain) youth culture that works today every bit as much as it did way back then, down to the smallest details, even -- as you say -- the clothing; I still see the same fashions on young people on a daily basis. In fact, it's really amazing to think that this movie was out in theaters so long ago as July 1995!
